Advanced Blackjack Tips
For those of you who already have a hold on the basics of playing Blackjack, you may want or need tips that are a little more advanced.
By now you should now how to choose your table, when to stand and hit and if you've read our Doubling Down Tips you'll know how to make the most money from your really strong two card totals.
But, like every game, the longer you play, the better you get at it. Occasionally though we all like a gentle nudge in the right direction so with that in mind, we've laid out the Top 5 tips that the more proficient players out there can use to develop their blackjack strategy!
- Never split 4-4, 5-5 or 10-10
- Always split A-A and 8-8
- Never double down on a hard total of 8 or less or on a hard total of 12 or more (hard hands do not contain an Ace)
- Never double down on a soft total of 19 or more (soft hands contain an Ace) - use basic standing strategy.
- Hit any soft total of 18 or less no matter what card the dealer has turned up
- Never take insurance!
